Paul Pogba fires “stupid” warning to Man Utd teammates after defeat to Leicester

Paul Pogba believes Manchester United need to be “more mature” after falling to a disappointing defeat at Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday.

The French international midfielder claimed that his side were conceding “easy goals and stupid goals” in a performance that would have rung plenty of alarm bells.

United had opened the scoring through a superb Mason Greenwood individual goal but Youri Tielemans and Caglar Soyuncu both found the target to turn the game on its head.

Marcus Rashford levelled the score for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side but the home side hit back through late goals from Jamie Vardy and Patson Daka to claim a deserved 4-2 victory.

It was a result that continued United’s slump in form domestically in which they have collected just one point from their last three Premier League matches.

The trip to the King Power Stadium saw Solskjaer leave central midfield duo Fred and Scott McTominay out of his starting line-up, with Pogba partnering Nemanja Matic in the middle.

Yet United failed to gain control of the midfield at any point throughout the match with their back-line continually left exposed by Leicester ’s pressing and direct style of play.

Pogba told reporters after the match: “To be honest we have been having this kind of game for a long time and we have not found what the problem is.

“We have conceded easy goals and stupid goals.

“In these sort of games on this sort of pitch, they will push and put pressure on us.

“We need to be more mature I think, and play with more experience – we need to have more arrogance, in a good way.

“We have to take the ball and play our football, but now we have to find what is the key and reason for this loss, because we deserved to lose today.”
