As Strictly Come Dancing contestant Judi Love recovers from Covid she’s told fans she hopes to be back on the dance floor as soon as possible despite feeling “lethargic and achy”

Strictly: Judi and Graziano talk about being in the bottom two

Loose Women presenter Judi Love has admitted she’s feeling ‘exhausted’ since being diagnosed with Covid this week.

The Strictly Come Dancing contestant, who is partnered with Graziano Di Prima on the show, will miss this weekend’s live performance after testing positive for the virus.

Despite telling fans she wants to get back on the dance floor as soon as possible, Judi admitted that Covid had taken its toll on her.

Writing for OK! she said: “At the time of writing this column, I’m feeling lethargic and achy, but I’m hoping to rest up and kick it as soon as I can.”

Revealing her upset at receiving the test result Judi said: “I was meant to be dancing the Cha Cha Cha this past weekend, but sadly everything changed as I tested positive for Covid-19.

“I experienced cold-like symptoms and so took a test, and was upset to see it came back positive.”

The 41-year-old admitted she was shocked to be told that she had Covid, but fortunately her children and Graziano are have all ‘tested negative’.

Judi admitted she was worried about how the virus would affect her physically, but that everyone at Strictly had been “amazing”.

It was confirmed by a Strictly spokesperson on Thursday that Judi would be missing from the competition this weekend.

“Judi Love has tested positive for Covid-19 and is now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines,” they said.

“While Judi and Graziano will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, Strictly Come Dancing protocols mean that all being well, they will return the following week.”

The comedian hasn’t had the easiest of rides on the show having found herself in the bottom two for the last two weeks in a row.

Bookies were predicting that she’d be booted off the series this week before it was announced that she would not be taking part.

However Judi’s fans were shocked to see her in the bottom two again.

One wrote: “Oh do me a favour. Judi again??! So not deserved #Strictly.”

While another fumed: “Excuse me Judi in the dance off what is happening here #Strictly.”

Judi is the second celebrity to be struck down with Covid after McFly frontman Tom Fletcher tested positive for the virus after his debut dance.

However he and partner Amy Dowden returned to the dance floor the following week after completing their isolation stint.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday at 6.45pm.
